On 13 July 2025 at 9:00 am, a ceremony took place at the Church of the Holy Cross in Warsaw in connection with celebrations for Sea Sunday, which is proclaimed each year by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. The event is a day of prayer set aside to remember maritime industry personnel, and especially those working at sea. Sea Sunday has been celebrated since 1975.
A Holy Mass was offered for the intentions of seafarers, port and shipyard workers, administration staff, and the employees of maritime education institutions and their families by the Director of the Apostleship of the People of Sea and Gdynia Maritime University Chaplain, Dr Edward Pracz. The liturgical arrangements and an honour guard were provided by the Gdynia Maritime University Guard of Honour. Taking part in the Holy Mass was the granddaughter of Engineer Tadeusz Wenda, the chief designer and construction manager of the port in Gdynia.
The ceremonial Mass was broadcast live on Polish Radio.
