GMU Visits Inland Navigation School and College
On 12 and 13 March 2025, a group of students from the GMU Guard of Honour and University staff members visited the Inland Navigation Secondary School in Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Inland Navigation College in Wrocław to promote study opportunities at Gdynia Maritime University and present the rich history and outstanding traditions of the oldest maritime school in Poland.
On 12 March, the delegation visited the Heroes of Westerplatte Inland Navigation Schools in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Thanks to the courtesy of the management of the school, we were able to visit the school building, find out about the activity of the school orchestra, and talk to students and answer their questions. We were impressed by the nautical decor of the school and the dormitory. The GMU delegation included a former pupil of the maritime school, Kacper Napolski, who studies at the Faculty of Navigation.
On 13 March, we were guests of the Inland Navigation Technical College in Wrocław. Also among the representatives of our University was Zofia Kierasińska, a student in the Faculty of Navigation and a graduate of the Technical College. The visit to the school was an excellent opportunity to talk to the college’s teaching staff and hear about their plans for the coming years.
Both the school and the college will begin maritime training on board GMU’s sail training ship Dar Mlodzieży in April. Once again, we would like to thank both of them for such a warm welcome.
