IEEE EUROCON 2025 Conference Held at Pomeranian Science and Technology Park
From 4 to 6 June 2025, the prestigious IEEE EUROCON 2025 Conference, one of the most important events in electrical engineering and IT in Europe, took place at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia.
EUROCON is a cyclical conference organised under the auspices of IEEE Region 8, bringing together scientists, engineers, doctoral candidates, and industry representatives from around the world. This year’s event was of particular importance for the Polish academic community, as for the first time the event was held in Pomerania.
The co-organisers of the conference were Gdynia Maritime University (GMU Faculty of Computer Science), Warsaw University of Technology, and the Polish Section of IEEE. The involvement of these institutions ensured a high level of content quality and a rich scientific programme for the event.
Taking part in the conference were more than 180 persons representing academic centres from around the world. Travelling to Poland for the event were the representatives of higher education and research institutions from 43 countries, including Germany, France, Sweden, and as far away as Chile, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates and more. Such a broad representation of international institutions confirms the global prestige of the event and the growing interest in modern technologies on a global scale.
As part of the conference, the newest achievements in areas such as:
- artificial intelligence and machine learning
- processing and analysis of data
- IoT and embedded systems
- 5G/6G telecommunications
- power electronics and power supply systems
- artificial intelligence and energy storage
- intelligent distribution systems and energy conversion
- cybersecurity
The event programme included many plenary sessions led by recognised experts, panel discussions, and sessions for the presentation of research results of young scientists. The conference also provided an excellent space for developing international cooperation in research and industry. Particularly popular was the Smart Sea Technology and Ecosystem session organised by the Faculty of Computer Science.
Also taking part in the event were representatives of the GMU Faculty of Computer Science, who presented research results and actively took part in workshops. Participation in IEEE EUROCON 2025 provided an opportunity to present the scientific work of the Faculty on the international stage.
The conference also saw the announcement of the winners of an international competition for the best student-authored academic papers and technical solutions.
The organisation of such a renowned conference in Gdynia confirms the improving position of the Pomerania region as an important centre of development of modern technologies and innovation in Europe.
