From 22 to 23 May 2025, HM The Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit, took part in the siting of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPUT) at the Silesian University of Technology as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations.

Discussions at the sitting focused on the rules governing academic evaluation, and access to the data base of scientific journals. A further topic of discussion were student scholarships. The event concluded with a meeting with Professor Marek Gzik, Secreatary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPUT) currently comprises the rectors of 23 universities of technology and 10 other associate member universities from around Poland. During the sitting, rectors debate the most important higher education issues, especially concerning technical sciences. Membership of the association is voluntary.
