In the 29th Grand Final of the PRONES Agency 'Gentleman of the Year' Poll on 6 June, HM The Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit, was presented a statuette honouring him as Gentleman of the Year for 2025.

Each year, the Gentleman of the Year Poll recognises outstanding individuals from the influential community in Pomerania. The idea behind the poll is the promotion of honourable attitudes and values within society. Among the winners in previous years were businessmen, scientists, doctors, lawyers, managers, and local government officials.

Alongside HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit, this year's winners included Dr Maciej Brzeziński, Head of the Department and Clinic of Cardiac Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Central Office of Measures; Wojciech Flisikowski, Head of the Department of Digitalisation of Collections at the University of Gdańsk; Mieczysław Gołuński, Mayor of Kartuz; Artur Kapica - Vicepresident of the company Ultramare; Marcin Ryngwelski, President of the Management Board of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna in Gdynia; and Viceadmiral Jarosław Ziemiański, Naval Inspector at the General Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces.

Those honoured with the prestigious title are entitled to join the Gentleman's Club, which currently has over 100 members.
