Scholarly Evenings with Gdynia Maritime University - 18 June 2025
On 18 June 2025, GMU will hold another lecture as part of its Scholarly Evenings with Gdynia Maritime University.
The topic of this week’s popular science lecture will be Lecture: Energy Management – "Tilting at Windmills" or a "Green Future"? Don Quixote vs. Generation Alpha
Climate change, the geopolitical situation, and technological progress are just a few – yet highly significant – factors influencing our decisions on energy efficiency. Even now, we face a dilemma: do we stick with conventional energy sources, or do we invest in renewables?
During the session, we will try to answer the question: is the energy transition – towards offshore wind power, nuclear energy, or solar power – a costly necessity that will burden future generations? Or, on the contrary, could it lead to cost optimisation and prove beneficial for all of us? What kind of planet do future generations expect us to leave behind? Are sustainable energy sources a conscious choice, or simply a response to the pressures of our time?
Speaking this week will be Dr Przemysław Dmowski, Associate Professor and Researcher in the Department of Quality Management at Gdynia Maritime University.
Where: main auditorium at the Faculty of Navigation (al. Jana Pawła II 3, Gdynia)
When: 18:00 on Wednesday 18 June.
Entry is free of charge and open to all (the lecture will be given in Polish only)
