On Friday 6 March 2026, between the hours of 9:00 and 14:00 Gdynia Maritime University will open its doors for an Open Day. Visitors will have the chance to get to know the University through visits to its laboratories and simulators, attending inspiring lectures and workshops, presentations of the activities of the GMU Student Scientific Societies, and talks with students and lecturers.
The Open Day will be held in the University’s main building on Morska Street and at the Faculty of Navigation near the seafront in the centre of Gdynia.
Registration for the Open Day will open on 18 February. Visit https://zapisy.umg.edu.pl/ to register and sign up for the classes and workshops.
Open Day is an excellent opportunity to experience life as a GMU student. Demonstrations and workshops held in the laboratories will give you a feel for the practical classes, while lectures delivered by academic staff will introduce the subjects taught in each faculty.
It’s also a time for direct conversations with students, who will share their experiences, talk about their studies and everyday academic life, and answer prospective applicants’ questions.
The simulators at both locations will be available to visitors, and the Faculty of Navigation will also offer the chance to visit the Planetarium.
