On 15 April 2026, Electrical Engineers’ Day took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The event provided an important platform for bringing together secondary-school pupils, students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and representatives of employers from the technical sector.

Taking part in this year’s event were representatives of 45 companies from fields including electronics, electrical engineering, energy, computer science, automation, and robotics. The event was attended by more than 200 secondary school pupils who cooperate with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Gdynia Maritime University.

Electrical Engineers’ Day is aimed at both current and future students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Secondary school pupils took advantage of the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the opportunities for further education at the Faculty, visit the Faculty’s labs, and attend lectures on augmented and virtual reality. It also gave them an opportunity to gain insight into studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, to talk to students and lecturers, and to obtain valuable information about the educational and career prospects associated with choosing this field as a future career path.

An important part of the event was meetings between students and the representatives of companies and institutions connected with industry. The conversations with employers enabled students to better understand current labour market requirements, find out which competencies are especially valued today, and discover the employment opportunities for technical graduates. Additionally, it provided an occasion to gather information on work placements, internships, and offers of employment, as well as make their first professional contacts, which may lead to cooperation or employment in the future.

Electrical Engineers’ Day once again proved its value as an event linking education with professional practice. The event inspires young people to make conscious decisions on their future education, supports them in planning their careers, and strengthens relations between the University, secondary schools, and the economic environment.
