GMU Technology Transfer Office Attends METALTECH 2026
Two of the GMU Technology Transfer Office’s brokers, Karolina Kosior and Marlena Żur-Lewandowska, took part in the METALTECH 2026 International Trade Fair at PTAK Expo in Nadarzyn on 20–21 January 2026, actively promoting innovative technological solutions developed by the University’s scientists and research teams.
The event provided an excellent platform to showcase the University’s intellectual and implementation potential in the field of modern industrial technologies.
Particular attention was drawn to solutions developed at the Faculty of Marine Engineering:
- A method for finishing post-weld surfaces, together with a wide range of tools for its implementation, by Olga Łastowska, PhD(Eng) (click on PDF for English)
- Development of a technology for producing a new sandwich composite using recycled rubber, by Daria Żuk, PhD(Eng), Katarzyna Panasiuk, PhD(Eng), and Norbert Abramczyk, MSc(Eng) (click on PDF for English)
- A new composite material based on pyrolysis chair, by Agata Wieczorska, MSc(Eng), Katarzyna Panasiuk, PhD(Eng), and Sylwia Bazychowska, MSc(Eng) (click on PDF for English)
In addition, attendees were introduced to other solutions in the University’s technology portfolio, including an offshore installation docking system, a mobile electromagnetic mooring system for small surface vessels, an eight-channel HAT-type expansion add-on, and polyurethane foam modified with nanochitosan, as well as GMU’s R&D services catalogue and its education programmes.
The showcased solutions attracted considerable interest, confirming both their high level of innovation and their tangible application value. Participation in the fair enabled direct contact with representatives of industry, investors and business partners, supporting relationship-building that may lead to technology licensing and future implementations of the University’s solutions, as well as the initiation of new joint research and development projects.
The presence of the Technology Transfer Office at METALTECH 2026 is an important step in strengthening the University’s recognition as a reliable partner for business and a place where technologies are created in response to current market needs. For the creators of the solutions, it was also a valuable opportunity to promote their achievements and a chance to commercialise research results.
Participation in the fair confirms the University’s commitment to active knowledge and technology transfer to the economy and to supporting innovations that have a real impact on the development of modern industry.
GMU’s participation in the Fair was financed as part of the ‘Inkubator Rozwoju’ [Development Incubator] work package under the project entitled: ‘Science4Business – Nauka dla Biznesu’, based on Agreement No. FENG.02.05-IP.07-001/23 dated 17 April 2025, and within the framework of Contract No. MNiSW/2025/DPI/251 for partnership in the joint implementation of the project under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, Measure FENG.02.05.
