One Water Alliance Launched – GMU Among Its Members
On 14 April 2026, the One Water Alliance was officially launched – a global community bringing together organisations, as well as industrial, research and educational entities working across the broad field of water, of which Gdynia Maritime University is also a member.
GMU's involvement marks another step in strengthening the University’s position as an active participant in international research and development projects and collaborative platforms dedicated to the sustainable management of water resources.
The One Water Alliance emerged from the intensive cooperation of partners involved in preparing the proposal for a Water Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The initiative provides a platform for developing joint projects, exchanging knowledge and implementing innovative solutions in water management, both in Europe and globally.
Gdynia Maritime University’s participation in the One Water Alliance opens up new opportunities for international cooperation, particularly in research, education and technology transfer. Membership of this network will also enable the University to play an active role in the development of the European innovation ecosystem in the field of water, including future initiatives carried out under EU projects.
The One Water Alliance currently brings together more than 100 partners from across Europe.
