Pupils from Węgorzewo Discovered the Secrets of Safe Maritime Transport of Chemicals

A lecture combined with chemical experiment demonstrations entitled 'A safe voyage begins with safe chemistry: because chemistry does not forgive carelessness, especially at sea' was held in the T. Meissner Auditorium. The session was prepared by Dr Magdalena Bogalecka.

The pupils learned about the hazards associated with the transport of dangerous chemicals by sea, and through spectacular experiments they were able to see how unpredictable chemical reactions can be and what consequences unexpected behaviour of carried cargo entails.

During the visit, staff of the Promotion Office also presented the University's study programmes, introducing the young people to opportunities for further education.
