Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour Returns to Gdynia
After more than 20 years, the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour is coming back to Gdynia. On Monday, 11 May 2026, a press conference inaugurating the first stage of the 83rd edition of the national cycling race was held on board ORP Błyskawica. Gdynia Maritime University was represented at the event by HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit.
This year’s event, held under the motto ‘North–South’, will begin on 3 August 2026. The first stage will run from Gdynia to Koszalin and cover a distance of 234 km. During the press conference, the General Director of the Tour de Pologne, Czesław Lang, emphasised the special significance of the race starting in Gdynia – a city celebrating its centenary this year and one that has long been associated with Polish sport.
The 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will take place from 3 to 9 August 2026. The official presentation of the teams is scheduled for 2 August in Gdynia. A day later, the world’s top cyclists will set off from Kościuszko Square for the first stage leading to Koszalin.
The event was attended by representatives of local governments, uniformed services, race partners, and national and regional media.
