On 5 March 2026, the 2nd ‘Women in Transport’ conference organised by Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (Polish Rail) took place in Warsaw. The conference was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Taking part in the conference, which involved Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak, were GMU representatives Dr Magdalena Bogalecka and Dr Aleksandra Wawrzyńska.

The event, organised to mark the upcoming International Women’s Day, provided an opportunity to discuss the role of women in the transport sector and the challenges facing the industry.

During the conference, Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak emphasised that transport is the lifeblood of the economy and one of the pillars of national security – largely thanks to the contribution of women. In his speech, he also pointed to the growing presence of women in the transport industry, where they are increasingly taking on specialist and managerial roles, and where their expertise, experience, and modern leadership styles are strengthening the development of the entire sector.

The event also provided an occasion for the award of honorary distinctions, which were also awarded to employees who have made a particularly significant contribution to the development of Polish transport. Among those honoured were representatives of the rail and road sectors.
