Required Documents
Candidates for the first year of studies:
Candidates applying for the first year of studies must submit the following documents within the deadline specified by the admission committees of the respective faculties:

Matura certificate or a Matura certificate and a statement of results from individual subjects as specified in the Polish Education System Act, or a foreign secondary school leaving certificate entitling the candidate to apply for higher education. A foreign certificate must be:
-
legalized or affixed with an apostille (this does not apply to documents issued in the EU or to IB and EB diplomas);

translated into Polish by a sworn translator;
-
accompanied by a statement from the Director of NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) confirming the certificate's recognition for further education purposes.
This statement is not required for certificates issued by countries that are members of the EU, EFTA, or OECD, or for those covered by international agreements on recognition of education (e.g. with China or Ukraine), as well as IB and EB diplomas. -

Document confirming proficiency in the Polish language (when applying for a course of study in Polish)
(Required for candidates who do not hold Polish citizenship and are applying for programs conducted in Polish.)A candidate who does not possess any of the above documents may take a Polish language proficiency test at the Maritime University of Gdynia (UMG).
Accepted documents include:

Certificate of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language at level B2 or higher;

ECL – European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages;

Certificate of completion of a preparatory course for undertaking university studies, lasting no less than 9 months;

Diploma of graduation from a study program with Polish as the language of instruction, issued by a higher education institution operating within the higher education and science system of the Republic of Poland;

Diploma of graduation from first-cycle (Bachelor’s), second-cycle (Master’s), or long-cycle Master’s studies in the field of philology in the scope of the Polish language or applied linguistics, issued by a foreign higher education institution, together with a diploma supplement or a certificate confirming that the number of Polish language instruction hours was at least 500;

Certificate of acquisition of the right to practice as a sworn translator issued by the Minister of Justice, referred to in Article 5(2) of the Act of 25 November 2004 on the Profession of Sworn Translator (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1326), or a certificate confirming entry into the register of sworn translators.

Two color passport photos on a light background, signed with name, surname, and PESEL number, and one digital photo (JPG format, color, light background, without head covering or dark glasses).
The digital photo must be at least 300 x 375 pixels (to allow printing at 2 cm x 2.5 cm with proper quality), and its size must not exceed 1 MB.
The digital photo must be identical to the paper photo submitted. -
Original proof of payment of the admission fee.
If the program is not launched, the fee will be refunded in full upon request from the candidate.
Additionally required:

Health insurance policy valid in Poland during the study period or a copy of the European Health Insurance Card or a declaration of registration with the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) immediately after starting studies;

Seafarer’s medical certificate – only for maritime specialization at the Faculty of Navigation;
-
Occupational health clearance issued by an occupational medicine physician – required only for the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (includes permission for internships);
-
Valid sanitary-epidemiological health book (original for review) or original valid medical certificate for sanitary-epidemiological purposes – required only for the Quality Sciences program.
Note: The cost of medical examinations and obtaining the sanitary-epidemiological health book or certificate is covered by the candidate.
