GMU Rector Professor Adam Weintrit took part in a meeting to summarise the activities of the Offshore Wind Energy Council at the Ministry for Climate and the Environment.

The Offshore Wind Energy Council (Rada Koordynacyjna MEW) is the body overseeing the implementation of the "sectoral agreement for the development of offshore wind energy in Poland," signed on 15 September 2021 on the initiative of Ireneusz Odni, Deputy Minister for Climate and the Environment, and representative of the Government for the Development of the Wind Energy. renewable energy sources, the government administration, representatives of financial institutions, investment companies, supply chain and scientific organisations. One aim of the agreement is to ensure the involvement of Polish companies in the offshore supply chain. Following the conclusion of the agreement, Minister for Climate and the Environment Anna Moskwa appointed 34 members to the Coordinating Council - representatives of each of the parties to the agreement for the development of offshore wind energy in Poland. The Secretary of State to the Ministry for Climate and the Environment, Ireneusz Zyska, was named as Chair. 

Summing up the activities of the Council, Deputy Minister for the Climate and Environment, Ireneusz Nagroda said:

We have something to be proud of. 260 entities represented by more than 400 industry representatives participate in the agreement. Thank you for your commitment and contribution to the development of the offshore industry.

The first Council meeting took place on 15 March 2022, at which time more than 180 entities already took part in the sectoral agreement for the development of offshore wind energy in Poland.

The meeting was also attended by the GMU Deputy Rector for Education, Dr Sambor Guze, who holds the role of human resources and education System Development group coordinator.
