Professor Lech Murawski Awarded Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta
On 7 May 2024, at the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, awarded national distinctions for service to the country and society.
For his outstanding service to the maritime economy, achievements in science, education, and implementation, and the popularisation of Polish scientific thought throughout the world, Professor Lech Murawski, an expert in experimental and numerical research, was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta Professor Lech Murawski is an advocate of combining theory and practice. The principal areas of research are Structural Dynamics and Structural Health Monitoring.
From 2008 to 2012, he worked at the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery at the Polish Academy of Sciences as a full professor. Since 2012, he has held the post of Head of the Fundamentals of Technology Department at the GMU Faculty of Marine Engineering. The Professor has served as a GMU Senator since 2016.
The awarded orders and distinctions were presented on behalf of the President by the Secretary of State in the office of the President. Also taking part in the ceremony were Chancellor of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Wiesław Johann, and a member of the Order's Chapter, Professor Maria Gintowt–Jankowicz.
