Creators of GMU Dylli Mobile App Distinguished in this Year’s Innovations Hub Mentoring Programme
The creators of the Dylli mobile app, Associate Professor Dr Adam Przybyłowski of the Department of Transport in the Faculty of Transport, GMU doctoral candidate Weronika Ceynowa, and Piotr Wojtasik - both previous students of the Faculty of Management and Quality Science, and Łukasz Ciskowski were awarded a distinction at the Innovations Hub Foundation Mentoring Programme event, under the Innovative IT path. The Programme provides a space for young entrepreneurs and ambitious students to develop ideas with commercial potential, as well as gain skills essential for creating a successful start-up, under the watchful eye of mentors experienced in the fields of MedTech, GreenTech and IT.
The GMU Team received support from two experienced mentors – Sylwester Winiarski of InPost and Tomasz Konecki of Closer2. The Team additionally took part in an expert session with Marta Zalewska – the Director of the InPost Green City project. These meetings proved fundamental for the GMU Team in the preparation of professional business plans, infographics, and pitch deck – indispensable at consecutive stages of the competition during which they presented the DYLLI app and in the search for investors.
The creators presented the mobile app to business experts at the final gala of the Innovations Hub Mentoring Programme, which was held at the Warsaw Stock Exchange headquarters on 21 June 2024. They were awarded a distinction from OVHcloud in the form of a 10,000 EUR voucher for cloud services.
The DYLLI mobile app supports the development of logistics, modern warehouse management and distribution channels to create sustainable supply chains. It facilitates the cooperation of the HORECA sector and the wholesale industry by creating flexible organisational structures and omnichannel management. The app provides quick and intuitive access to functionalities and can be personalised to user needs.
The prototype for the mobile application, together with the relevant know-how and its logo were developed and registered for protection as part of pre-implementation work UMG-06 (RWK/II 4.0/4/12/2020) under the programme Innovation Incubator 4.0, carried out under a non-competitive programme entitled Support for Scientific Research and the Commercialisation of R&D Outcomes at Scientific Bodies and Organisations as part of the EU’s Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020 (Action 4.4). The innovative invention was awarded with a silver medal at the prestigious International Warsaw Invention Show in 2023 and is one of the University’s first technological inventions. Its market potential has once again been duly recognised by entrepreneurs. The voucher allocated to the Team will help them to scale the infrastructure and further develop their innovative platform.
Taking into account the exceptionally high level of all projects considered at this year's event as, emphasised by the jury, the awarded distinction is certainly a cause for celebration.
The success of the Team involved in the creation of the Dylli app testifies to the creativity of Gdynia Maritime University students in developing innovative solutions that meet the current needs of the market, as well as their determination in taking on new challenges.
Many congratulations on your success!
