Rector Takes Part in DSH International Shipping Innovation Conference in Shanghai
HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit, attended the DSH International Shipping Innovation Conference in Shanghai on 8 July 2024.
The conference was organised in the form of three simultaneous discussion panel forums on the following topics:
- Accelerate the High-end Shipping Services to Foster a Shipping Functional Cluster
- Accelerate the Uptake of New Energies to Facilitate Transition to Low-carbon Shipping
- Accelerate the Transition towards Digitalization to Create a High Ground for the Allocation of Shipping Resources
Professor Adam Weintrit participated in a panel discussion on empowering the shipping industry through the implementation of capacity building as part of the first forum. The discussion was moderated by Professor Wei Ruan Secretary General at the Shanghai International Shipping Research Center.
The first DSH International Shipping Innovation Conference took place in 2023 and aimed to accelerate innovations within the shipping services sector in technology, business, and management. The 2024 conference was initiated and co-hosted by Lin-gang Special Area and Shanghai Maritime University – one of the 74 members of the International Association of Maritime Universities, currently chaired for the 2023-2025 term by HM The Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit.
