GMU Representatives Take Part in 2nd Internationalisation Congress

On 11 and 12 September 2024, the 2nd Internationalisation Congress took place at Warsaw University. The main topic was the international cooperation in research. Representing GMU were: Izabela Dudek-Muczyńska from the Department of Science, and Dorota Barzowska and Magdalena Agholor from the Department of International Cooperation.

During the first day of the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the internationalisation of research and science in higher education in the face of geopolitical challenges and the tools for effective support for international scientific cooperation. During sessions held in parallel, consideration was given to the place and role of the scientific researcher at European Universities, as well as the risks associated with international scientific cooperation. Participants also discussed the internationalisation of academia as part of the country's vision for development, on top of issues connected with the promotion of Universities abroad and the internationalisation of doctoral schools. 

On the second day of the congress, numerous Polish and foreign experts discussed the topic of an international scientific career, both in terms of career development and subsequent assessment. One of the panels was dedicated to discussions on 25 years of science within the ecosystem of European Framework Programmes and the participation of Polish researchers. The conference concluded with a presentation on strategic internationalisation from the perspective of the University of Warsaw. The 2nd International Congress was also an excellent opportunity for individuals from different Universities to meet and exchange their experiences.
