GMU Authorities Meet with Representative of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Sin-Yee Loh
On 2 April 2025, a meeting took place between GMU authorities and Sin-Yee Loh, Regional Director (Europe) in the International Division of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss potential frameworks for collaboration between the parties.
Representing the University were HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit; Dr Dariusz Barbucha, Deputy Rector for Science; Dr Sambor Guze, Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development; Dr Przemysław Wilczyński, Deputy Rector for Maritime Affairs, Cooperation, and Development in the Faculty of Navigation; Dr Robert Starosta, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Science in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Dr Andrzej Piłat, Deputy Dean for Maritime and Student Affairs; and Dr Adam Muc, Deputy Dean for Education and Organisation of Study Programmes in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Also taking part in the meeting was the Managing Director of Academy Maritime Services Ltd., Tomasz Łączyński.
Among other things, the parties declared their willingness to cooperate in maritime education, including the exchange of students and lecturers. The potential organisation of a course on alternative fuels and maritime safety was also a topic of discussion.
HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit, invited Sin-Yee Loh, Regional Director (Europe) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, to take part in the TransNav 2025 International Conference that will be organised by the University in June. Experts from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore will sit on the conference’s scientific committee.
