GMU Representatives Take Part in the Proceedings of Polish Academy of Sciences Geodesy Committee
The 4th plenary assembly of the 2024-2027 term of office of the Polish Academy of Sciences Geodesy Committee took place on 6-7 November in Olsztyn. Attending the meeting were Committee members HM The Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Professor Adam Weintrit, and Professor Andrzej Stateczny.
On 6 and 7 November 2025, the Polish Academy of Sciences Geodesy Committee met in Olsztyn for the fourth time during the current term. The meeting was attended by HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit, and Professor Andrzej Stateczny, who are both members of the Committee.
During the event, current activities of the Committee were discussed, including work plans for its sections and commissions. The agenda also covered the update of the Committee’s website and proposals for a competition for the best doctoral dissertation. A focal point of the meeting was a review of the GeoIntegration programme. Discussions were also held on the matters regarding the publication of the Committee’s journal, Advances in Geodesy and Geoinformation, which is released twice a year.
The Polish Academy of Sciences Geodesy Committee is a self-governing representative body for the disciplines of geodesy and cartography, dedicated to integrating scholars from across the country. The Committee was initially appointed in 1952 and affiliated first with Division III – Mathematical, Physical, Chemical and Geological-Geographical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and from 1978 with Division VII – Earth and Mining Sciences. Its members included experienced scientists researching a wide range of geodesy and geodesy-related issues.
