Third Cohort of Participants in Executive Offshore Wind MBA Graduates
The third edition of the Gdynia Maritime University Executive Offshore Wind MBA programme, organised by the Offshore Wind Energy Centre, has come to an end. A total of 17 graduates attended a ceremony to collect their diplomas. Executive Offshore Wind MBA is the first such programme in Poland and the second in the world dedicated to the offshore wind energy industry.
On 5 December, a ceremony was held for the presentation of MBA diplomas to 17 graduates of the GMU Executive Offshore Wind MBA (EOW MBA) Programme.
The ceremony was held in the Taduesz Meissner. Representing the University officials were HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit, and Dr Sambor Guze, Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs. Representing the University’s partner institutions, co-deliverers of the Executive Offshore Wind MBA Programme were Dominic Kudlacek (Hochschule Bremerhaven - University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven) and Flemming Østergaard (Business Academy SouthWest). Also taking part in the ceremony was Jakub Budzyński, President of the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Chamber, one of the Programme’s content partners.
While congratulating the graduates, the guests underlined in their speeches that they are joining Poland’s offshore wind workforce at a unique moment: after years of preparation, construction of Polish offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea has begun, and Poland’s market is seen as one of the most promising in the world.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, the class representative, Adam Malik, said that completing the programme was a challenge not only for the participants themselves, but also for their families. He added that the diploma and the knowledge gained feel even more rewarding when you think about the time and sacrifices the Programme required.
The EOW MBA Programme is conducted in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven and Business Academy South West (Denmark). The EOW MBA programme combines modern knowledge with practical skills in the management of offshore wind companies. Graduates of the programme are highly qualified specialists who have gained the necessary competencies for the effective management of projects supporting the development of renewable energy sources.
Offshore wind energy (OWE) plays a key role in the attainment of global climate goals, and its development requires excellence in both management and the implementation of innovative solutions. Participants in the EOW MBA programme had the opportunity to work with more than 40 industry experts from across the world. In addition to providing them with a wealth of knowledge, this also enabled them to develop a network of international contacts.
The two-year, four-semester EOW MBA postgraduate programme combines the development of general management skills with industry-specific knowledge. The English-taught classes run for 60 days (weekend sessions), include more than a dozen exams and assessed assignments, and conclude with the writing of a final dissertation.
The fifth edition of the Offshore Wind Energy Programme will begin in October 2026.
