Michał Łatacz

Michał Łatacz has more than 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind sectors. He graduated from the Maritime University in Gdynia with a Master of Science degree and has recently completed the Executive MBA in Offshore Wind at the same university.
His career has taken him around the world with well-known offshore companies such as Technip, Subsea7, Van Oord and others. Over the years he has been involved in every major stage of project delivery: tendering, design, procurement, installation analyses and procedure development, offshore execution and pre-commissioning. His technical background covers subsea pipelines and structures, flexibles, subsea cables, tie-ins, interventions, diving and ROV operations.
Since 2006 he has held a range of roles in the offshore field, starting as an installation engineer and progressing through project engineer and lead engineer positions to deputy Construction and Project Manager. Alongside his theoretical knowledge, he has extensive offshore installation experience gained on various types of vessels, including rigid and flexible lay vessels, heavy-lift units, rock installation vessels and dive support vessels. He is familiar with DP, jack-up and mooring systems.
Michał has taken part in numerous design and workability reviews, HIRAs and HAZOPs, which has shaped his strong focus on safety and team wellbeing. He has contributed to major projects such as Åsgard Subsea Gas Compression, Baltic Connector, Baltic Pipe, Sakarya and several others. Having worked both for operators and contractors, he understands the technical, commercial and contractual perspectives from each side.
He is also a co-owner of a consulting company involved in offshore energy projects, a young firm with a growing track record that keeps him close to current market practice and project realities.
Michał is a lecturer at the Gdańsk University of Technology in postgraduate programs for Oil and Gas Engineering and Offshore Wind Technologies.
