GMU Joins 8Foundry Alliance Cluster
Gdynia Maritime University has received its certificate of membership of the 8Foundry Alliance cluster – an initiative that brings together academia, business and public institutions on a single collaboration platform.
On 8 January 2026, representatives of Gdynia Maritime University, 8Foundry Alliance and Łączpol met to mark the occasion. During the meeting, the University was officially presented with the certificate confirming its accession to the 8Foundry Cluster. The partners also discussed the next steps for co-operation within the Cluster.
Representing GMU were:
- Prof. Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development;
- Prof. Ireneusz Czarnowski, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science;
- Rafał Magryś – Chair of the Council of the 8Foundry Alliance cluster;
- Martyna Lewandowska – member of the board of 8Foundry, Coordinator of the 8Foundry Alliance cluster;
- Piotr Mierzwiński – member of the board 8Foundry, Chief Business Officer;
- Wojciech Szczurek – member of the council of 8Foundry Alliance;
- Adam Pawłowski – President of Łączpol;
- Józef Poltrok – founder of Łączpol.
The 8Foundry Alliance Cluster is an initiative that brings academia, business and public institutions together on a single collaboration platform. Its joint activities are focused on developing projects, technologies and networks for cooperation.
Cross-sector partnerships are made possible by the Cluster’s diverse membership, which includes both international corporations and emerging start-ups, regional and local authorities, leading universities and research institutes, as well as non-profit organisations delivering social-impact projects.
