Second Stage of the Junior Computer Science Olympiads Held at GMU
On 7 March 2026, the second stage of the Junior Computer Science Olympiads were held in the T.Meissner Auditorium at Gdynia Maritime University. As part of the competition more than 30 primary school pupils tackled programming and algorithm problems required logical thinking, analytical thinking, and fundamental computer science knowledge. The event was co-organised by the Faculty of Computer Science at Gdynia Maritime University.
The second stage of the competition took place simultaneously at several education centres in Poland. The hosting of the event by Gdynia Maritime University allowed these talented youngsters to compete against one another in a professional academic environment. The competition is an important element supporting the development of the computer science of school pupils and the promotion of individuals talented in the areas programming and algorithms.
The computer science Olympiad has an almost 20-year history with the first event taking place in the 2006/2007 school year. Since 2019/2020, the competition has been organised by the Computer Science Development Foundation.
