Students and Staff Compete in 5th Sudoku Championships

On 6 May 2026, the 5th Sudoku Championships were held at Gdynia Maritime University. Taking part in the event were a mix of students and University staff – all of them logic puzzle enthusiasts who tackled a set of challenging Sudoku diagrams.
The competition took place in an atmosphere of concentration, but also good fun and sporting rivalry. The competitors had a chance to put their logical thinking skills, concentration, and the speed of their problem solving abilities to the test. This year’s edition once again confirmed that the championships enjoy strong interest from the University community and have become a permanent fixture in the calendar of events, bringing together the University’s students and staff.
The winner of this year's Sudoku competition is Natalia Szymańska (Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Agnieszka Grzela (Administration) takes second place, and third place goes to HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit.
