The Dar Młodzieży has dropped anchor in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 50 nautical miles from Norfolk – the first American port of call during this year's training voyage to the United States. The additional time before entering port was used to carry out routine maintenance work and prepare the vessel for its participation in the international sailing events.

Meanwhile, the practical training of the student trainees on board continued. Onboard exercises included training the crew for manning the yards during tall ship parades, as well as practicing ceremonial procedures. All activities were carried out in favourable weather conditions, and the trainees and crew were in high spirits ahead of their upcoming stay in the United States.

On 18 June, the vessel took a pilot on board and headed for the designated anchorage in Lynnhaven Roads, where tall ships participating in the event were already gathering. Among them was the American training ship USCG Eagle. Later that day, a captains' briefing was held, followed by the official opening reception for the regatta.

Activities on 19 June will begin with a visit from a Polish delegation from Washington, D.C., including the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United States. In the morning, the delegation, alongside the crew and trainees of the Dar Młodzieży, will participate in the Parade of Sail, which officially opens the events in Norfolk.

During their stay in Norfolk, representatives of the Dar Młodzieży, led by Captain Michał Sadowski, will take part in a series of official and diplomatic events, including meetings hosted on board the tall ships HMS Gladan and BAP Unión. Once the vessel has been secured alongside and prepared to welcome members of the public, the student trainees will enjoy free time to explore the attractions and culture of the host city.
