INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

in connection with the job recruitment process

The controller of your personal data is Gdynia Maritime University (81-87 Morska Street, Gdynia). The controller has designated a Data Protection Officer (email: iod@umg.edu.pl). 

Your personal data contained in your job application is processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a), (c) and (f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR). 

The processing of the aforementioned data is necessary for the fulfilment of legal obligations incumbent on Gdynia Maritime University under the provisions of the Labour Code relating to the employment process, to the extent of the data required by these legal provisions.

In the case of your consent to the processing of data for the purposes of future recruitment processes, the legal basis for processing is your consent.

Furthermore, in order to establish or pursue potential claims or to defend against such claims, the legal basis for data processing is the legitimate interest of Gdynia Maritime University.

The recipients of your personal data are exclusively entities authorised to have access to it in accordance with the rules and the scope provided for by the applicable law or other relevant provisions.

Your personal data falls within the category of standard personal data; this data will not be processed by automated means or be subject to profiling.

The provision of your personal data is voluntary. However, refusal to provide your personal data will result in your inability to participate in the recruitment process.

Your personal data will be retained until the conclusion of the specific recruitment process, and to the extent that data processing is based on your consent, until such consent is withdrawn. Where consent has been granted for the processing of data for the purposes of future recruitments, the data will be processed for a period not exceeding 24 months from the application closing date. You may withdraw your consent to processing at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.

The retention period may be extended in each instance by the limitation period for claims, provided that the processing of your personal data remains necessary for the establishment or pursuit of potential claims, or for the defence against such claims by Gdynia Maritime University. Following this period, the data will be immediately erased or anonymised.

You have the right to access your personal data and request its rectification.

The right to request the erasure or restriction of processing of your data, and to object to the processing of such data provided for in the GDPR is subject to the limitations of the Acts and other provisions of law that require Gdynia Maritime University to retain certain data for a legally defined period of time.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Warsaw if the processing of your personal data infringes the applicable legal provisions.
