GMU at the IAME 2026 International Scientific Conference in Singapore

The conference organiser, IAME, was founded in 1992 as one of the world's leading associations bringing together more than 300 representatives from academia, scientific institutions, and maritime economy experts. 

The IAME 2026 conference, held on 1–3 July 2026, was devoted to analysing the most important transformational processes currently shaping the operational and strategic dimensions of maritime transport, supply chains, and port systems. The main topics at this year's event included digitalisation and automation, decarbonisation and sustainable development, as well as geopolitical changes and strengthening the resilience of global transport networks. 

An important element of the discussion was also the role of scientific theories in explaining and interpreting processes taking place in the modern maritime economy. 

The conference was attended by GMU Associate Professor Dr Joanna Kizielewicz, Head of the Department of Management and Economics at the Faculty of Management and Quality Science, and Dr Magdalena Winiarska. During the three-day sessions, they presented the results of their research and participated in discussions on the most important challenges facing the modern maritime economy, in particular digitalisation, decarbonisation, and sustainable development. 

The participation of Gdynia Maritime University staff in such a prestigious event confirms GMU's active presence in the international academic debate and the University's commitment to the development of knowledge that responds to the modern needs of the economy and the maritime sector.
