Polish Omega Championship Concludes with Standard Class Victory for GMU

Despite the demanding conditions, a full set of 9 races was completed in both the Sport and Standard categories.

After three days of competition, the title of Polish Champions in the Omega Standard class was won by our POL655 crew, comprising:

• Filip Jarosiewicz – student, Faculty of Navigation
• Wiktor Kreft – student, Faculty of Navigation
• Tytus Czajkowski – student, Faculty of Marine Engineering

Throughout the regatta, the crew sailed exceptionally consistently, regularly finishing among the leaders in individual races. This consistency landed them the well-deserved title of Polish Champions!

In the Sport category, the POL654 crew finished the competition in 4th place. The team comprised:

• Dr Jędrzej Charłampowicz – staff member, Department of Logistics and Transport Systems
• Bartosz Sadowski – student, Faculty of Marine Engineering
• Adam Strelau – student, Faculty of Management and Quality Science

Injuries and illness prevented the crew from competing at full strength. Despite these adversities, they managed to secure the ‘wooden medal’ in exceptionally strong competition.

The season is slowly drawing to a close, but we already invite all students – including incoming first-year students – with racing experience to contact coach Dr Jędrzej Charłampowicz regarding recruitment for the Omega racing section.
