Teams

Gdynia Maritime University entrusted two independent teams with activities aimed at implementing the provisions of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in the University’s internal procedures and practices.
 

Team for Developing the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers

The Team for Developing the HR Strategy for Researchers was appointed in 2017 in connection with the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The Team coordinated the preparation of the Strategy at the University. In the course of this work, the following activities were carried out:

  • development of a work schedule; 
  • preliminary analysis of external and internal legal regulations, procedures and practices applied at the University, taking into account the scope of application of the provisions of the Charter and the Code; 
  • development of the methodology and questionnaire survey concerning the implementation of the provisions of the Charter and the Code; 
  • conducting the questionnaire survey; 
  • preparation of the Gap Analysis, identifying areas in which GMU needed to take action to align its internal regulations with the requirements of the Charter and the Code; 
  • consultations with faculty and department staff on the content of the prepared analysis; 
  • development of an action strategy, referred to as the ‘HR4R Strategy’. 

The Team consisted of:

  • Deputy Rector for Science; 
  • representatives of each faculty; 
  • a representative of the Department of Science. 

The Team’s activities were supported by:

  • the Legal Services Department; 
  • organisational and information security specialists; 
  • representatives of doctoral candidates. 

The Team was active from December 2016 to December 2022.

 

Team for Monitoring the Implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers

In 2022, the Team for Monitoring the Implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers was established. Its tasks include:

  • developing a work schedule aimed at implementing the Action Plan of the HR Strategy; 
  • defining specific tasks related to the implementation of the Action Plan of the HR Strategy; 
  • establishing indicators for the implementation of specific tasks; 
  • continuously monitoring the results of the implementation of specific tasks under the HR Strategy; 
  • keeping the academic community informed about the Team’s work; 
  • conducting a questionnaire survey among GMU academic staff and doctoral candidates to assess the level of implementation of the HR Strategy objectives; 
  • regularly reporting the Team’s activities to the Rector; 
  • disseminating information on the implementation of specific tasks on the GMU website dedicated to the HR Excellence in Research Award; 
  • preparing a report on the implementation of the Action Plan, which forms part of the HR Strategy; 
  • preparing the University for the auditors’ site visit. 

The Team consisted of:

  • Deputy Rector for Science; 
  • representatives of the faculties and the institute; 
  • a representative of the Human Resources and Payroll Department; 
  • a representative of the Department of Science; 
  • a representative of doctoral candidates. 

The Team’s activities are supported by the Strategy Development Team and the Legal Services Department.
