Initiatives

 

  • Baltic Sea and Space Cluster, BSSC (also: Innovative Hubs Cluster) supports innovation and development in research, enterprise, administration, and local government, connected to the Baltic Sea region and the world ocean.
     
  • Pomeranian Platform for the Development of Offshore Wind Energy on the Baltic Sea–the platform supports the development of the offshore industry in Pomerania, through the exchange of information, support for the realisation of investments, the development of personnel, and exploitation of the scientific research potential within the offshore wind energy sector. Joint activities support the integration of Pomeranian enterprises and institutions and the exchange of experiences, and aim to include local content in the construction project and offshore wind farm supply chains.
     
  • Invest in Pomerania–a regional initiative coordinated by the Pomeranian Development Agency, launched in 2011 following a "financial attractiveness analysis" by PwC. The initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to foreign investors through the promotion of the region's potential (higher education, businesses, local ecosystem) and servicing of the investment.
     
  • Intelligent Specialisations in Pomerania:
    ISP 1 - Offshore and port-logistics technology–the initiative aims to strengthen international competition and the acceleration of growth of Pomeranian companies in the maritime economy through research and development work and the creation of environmentally friendly marine"resource exploration and ex"loitation services, as well as technology based on innovative products.

    ISP 2 - Interactive technologies in the age of information saturation–Develop and strengthen international competitiveness and the growth rate of enterprises from the ICT sector in Pomerania through research and development work and the development of intellectual potential for the creation of innovative interactive technology products and services within an environment of information saturation.
    ISP 3 - Ecoeffiicent technology in the production, transmission, distribution and use of energy and fuel in construction– Develop and strengthen the competitiveness of economic entities through the creation of new products and services based on the results of R&D and implementation works, aimed at increasing efficiency in the production, processing and use of energy, extraction of raw materials, and fuel processing, and reducing impact on the natural environment.  
  • Konsorcjum COP - Tradition, Defence—an initiative that aims to combine science and industry for the stimulation of the economy and the application of innovative technologies. Cooperation with the consortium is aimed at establishing a common stance towards the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ).
     
  • The "Science for the Sea" consortium was established in November 2021 to provide a platform for the consolidation of activities in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland. The consortium will provide consultancy at each stage of the development of an offshore investment, starting with the project phase and going as far as providing scientific oversight during the review of offers for construction. Scientific teams will participate in work to improve the exploitation, diagnostics, and monitoring of offshore wind farms, their management, and research on the durability of the infrastructure, equipment, and installations. The consortium's main area of interest is the management, maintenance, and exploitation of offshore wind farms.
     
  • Study in Pomorskie”—an agreement which details strategic enterprises aimed at the internationalisation of pomeranian centres of higher education, and strengthening the competitiveness of the region. The Initiative is focused on the consistent and effective promotion of Pomeranian centres of higher education, in relation to education and more. 
     
  • Narodowe Centrum Badań Bałtyckich (NCBB) [National Centre for Baltic Sea Research]a scientific consortium focused on Baltic Sea research, which benefits from the unique specialist knowledge of its partners in all possible aspects of basic and applied research (from physics, biology, and chemistry to technology and medicine). The principal task of the NCBB is to develop a common research agenda and coordinate and conduct interdisciplinary research, in contribution to the effective management of sustainable development and protection of the Baltic Sea environment.
     
  • Instytut Autostrada Technologii i Innowacji (IATI) —a virtual institute that aims to integrate scientific research conducted in three environments: higher education, independent research institutes, and business. 
    IATI represents a network of many partners working together towards a common goal - to carry out research and development work aimed at the development of innovative technology and solutions that support the progression of the modern economy. 
  • Polish Polar Consortium (PK Polar)–the initiative aims to assess the current state of Polish research conducted in polar regions, and determine the main directions for the development of such research in Poland, having regard to its educational and cognitive value and social and economic usability.
