GMU Takes Part in Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship

The 9th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship took place on 14th and 15th November in anticipation of World Entrepreneurship Week. The event was organised by the Polish Agency for Enterprise. GMU was represented at the Congress by members of the Intellectual Property and Commercialisation of Research Team,  Magdalena Kukowska-Kaszuba - a lead specialist in technology transfer and cooperation with business, and Agnieszka Piotrowska-Kirschling - an innovation broker, and independent clerk for technology transfer.

The Polish Enterprise Congress is the biggest mobile economic event in Poland. This year's event saw more than twenty discussion panels take place, including a panel entitled "There is no future without modernity - the new face of science" organised in collaboration with the Academic Technology Transfer Centres Agreement (PACTT). The work of PACTT in the development of technology transfer in Poland was recognised at the Congress by the presentation of an award in the "Fundamental 2022" category.

The discussion also focused on the support of higher education institutions in the transfer of knowledge and technology in academic, scientific and business environments, the link between education and entrepreneurship, the University of the Future - ways to attract students, the importance of an educated graduate as a better employee, and training as an opportunity for the development of a company, i.e., staff investment. Of great interest was the panel on the cooperation of Technology Transfer Centres with the social and economic environment and the vision of Polish success as understood by the development of start-ups.

At its exhibition stand, the Intellectual Property and Commercialisation of Research Team presented the research solutions offered by GMU as well as solutions developed as part of pre-implementation work carried out under the "Innovation Incubator 4.0" programme:
