Piotr Garbacz

Piotr Garbacz  is a maritime industry professional with ship command experience, having sailed as Officer and Captain predominantly on heavy-lift and multi-purpose vessels. Moreover with nearly two decades of onshore experience in global logistics, maritime transport planning, port and offshore operations, he brings a unique combination of technical and risk management expertise, managerial skills, and commercial insight.

Throughout his career, working several years in China and Asia, Piotr has overseen hundreds of shipments—from general cargo to large industrial equipment—including several thousand wind turbines, primarily transported from Asia to North America. He has worked with multicultural, multidisciplinary teams and contributed his expertise to the negotiation and execution of high-value international transport contracts. 

Currently, he leads the Fleet Performance Team at BBC Chartering (Germany), ensuring vessel readiness, operational compliance, and expert support across technical, operational, commercial, and regulatory areas.

Piotr holds an MSc in Engineering from the Faculty of Navigation at the Merchant Marine Academy and an Executive MBA in Offshore Wind from Gdynia Maritime University. He shares his practical experience and insights with the younger generation, helping them understand real-world challenges in maritime logistics and marine operations. Also he demonstrates how innovative strategies, modern operational systems, operational excellence, and cross-industry transformations can drive success in maritime transport.
