Research areas at the Department of Marine Electrical Power Engineering include: improvement of electrical power quality in shipboard and land-based systems: analysis of conditions and implementation of new technical solutions; assessment of power quality in intelligent shipboard networks; evaluation of the impact of supply voltage quality on the operational properties and performance of electric motors used in shipboard and land-based systems; research on probabilistic models and methods for tracking the actual topology of low-voltage networks in intelligent power grids; research and evaluation of analogue and digital information transmission quality in shipboard measurement and control systems; research on metrological infrastructure in underwater acoustics in cooperation with the Central Office of Measures.
