Department of Marine Telecommunications

Research areas at the Department of Marine Telecommunications include: modelling and analysis of computational intelligence systems with particular emphasis on machine learning methods; development and research of digital data transmission systems utilising hydroacoustic channels; research on the application of machine learning methods and algorithms for the reconstruction of corrupted data in the maritime AIS (Automatic Identification System); research into the potential for satellite reception and detection of data transmitted by shipborne AIS transponders.
