Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) conducts physicochemical and chemical tests in various environmental matrices: surface, underground and marine waters, water for human consumption, rainwater and meltwater, sewage, sewage sludge, bottom sediments, soils, land, waste and plant and animal tissues.

The Department provides accredited sampling in the mentioned matrices and also provides assistance in selecting appropriate research methods for various types of pollutants.

DEP has a laboratory that has implemented the Laboratory Management System in accordance with the PN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard and, since September 1, 2005, has had the Polish Accreditation Center Certificate No. AB 646 confirming compliance with the requirements of the above-mentioned standard.

High-class specialists with extensive experience in the field of environmental protection and qualified scientific research staff with in-depth knowledge of laws, directives, regulations and guidelines allow us to prepare reliable expert opinions, studies, assessments and reports.

DEP also shares knowledge and, together with the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone, implements the "Maritime Competences" project under the patronage of the Pomeranian Education Superintendent. Over 300 primary and secondary school students could see how a laboratory specializing in research for the maritime economy works.
