Degree description

The Business and Management in Maritime Economy specialisation programme covers subjects in the field of general management and economics, such as strategic management, innovation management and modern marketing, as well as selected humanities subjects that develop skills useful for future managers. In addition, the programme includes specialist subjects in the field of maritime business, including maritime economics, business projects in the maritime sector and financing maritime activities. Students also gain knowledge on selected maritime economy issues, such as maritime spatial planning and development, maritime resource management and renewable energy sources.

Graduates obtain a competitive education that prepares them for managerial positions in companies in the TSL sector, the offshore industry and the shipbuilding industry. After completing this specialisation, there are also good prospects for developing one's own business in these areas.

Requirements
  • Applicants for bachelor’s degree programmes must hold a secondary school leaving certificate that entitles them to apply for higher education in the country where it was issued.
    This may include:
    • a Polish Matura certificate (or other European equivalent)
    • another recognised secondary school leaving certificate (or equivalent qualification) entitling the applicant to apply for higher education in their own country

      If your certificate was issued outside Poland, it must:

    • be legalised or bear an apostille (except for documents issued in EU countries or International Baccalaureate and - European Baccalaureate diplomas);
    • be translated into Polish by a sworn translator; and
    • if required, be accompanied by a statement* from the Director of NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) confirming that it is recognised for further study in Poland.

Internships

The bachelor's degree programme in Maritime Business and Management includes a compulsory internship conducted in accordance with the Framework Internship Programme.
The internship takes place after the fifth semester (and is assessed following the sixth). Students can complete it in the TSL sector, maritime agencies, import–export companies, seaports, or industries related to maritime tourism, fisheries and fish processing.
