Marine and Land-based Disciplines
What sets GMU apart is the unique combination of maritime and land-based disciplines. The University trains merchant fleet officers in accordance with the STCW Convention and prepares engineers and managers for key roles in the maritime, industrial, and coastal sectors.

Faculties and Fields of Study
GMU comprises five faculties: Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Navigation, Management and Quality Science, and the newly established (2024) Faculty of Computer Science – alongside the Maritime Institute. The University offers 11 diverse fields of study: Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Navigation, Transport, Management, Quality Engineering, Operation and Diagnostics of Technical Systems, Offshore Wind Energy, and Communication and Information Technology Systems. Each programme is designed to provide a strong academic foundation and prepare students for a successful professional career.

University Fleet
The University operates three ships: the world-famous sailing vessel Dar Młodzieży, the modern research and training ship Horyzont II, and IMOR – the first Polish vessel built for coastal zone and lagoon research.
