Operation and Diagnostics of Technical Systems
The bachelor’s degree programme in Technical Systems Operation and Diagnostics, offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Gdynia Maritime University, is a new and forward-looking degree designed in response to current labour market needs and student expectations. Developed in close cooperation with industry, it combines engineering knowledge with practical skills in system operation, maintenance, diagnostics, reliability and energy management.
Students may choose between two unique pathways: Diagnostics of Technical Equipment and Wind Farm Operations Management. The programme places particular emphasis on active learning, with classes taught in alternating formats and in smaller groups. Depending on the chosen pathway, students develop competencies in areas such as advanced diagnostic methods, predictive maintenance, numerical modelling and simulation, wind farm operation, and safety management in energy facilities. Industry representatives have contributed to both the curriculum and selected classes, ensuring strong practical relevance and close alignment with current professional standards. The curriculum also includes a compulsory industrial placement.
Graduates are prepared for careers in modern diagnostic and maintenance services, technical support and engineering companies, the renewable energy sector, and businesses involved in the construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind farms. The programme also supports the development of communication and organisational skills valued in contemporary engineering roles.
Pathways:
Diagnostics of Technical Equipment
Wind Farm Operations Management
