GMU Inventions Awarded at INTARG 2025 in Katowice
GMU research teams behind innovative inventions have been awarded three medals during the 18th International Inventions and Innovations Show INTARG 2025 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
Taking part in the event, which was held from 3 to 4 June 2025, were innovations brokers from the GMU Technology Transfer Office, Beata Wetoszka and Marlena Żur Lewandowska. The event is important platform for the promotion of modern technological solutions and the transfer of knowledge from the scientific community to industry.
The GMU staff presented the University’s R&D and innovative solutions as included in GMU technological portfolio and developed by its research teams. They also engaged in talks with jurors and experts in connection with the INTARG competition which was part of the event. The effects of this work can be seen in the three medals awarded to solutions from the GMU portfolio:
- GOLD MEDAL
Method of manufacturing polyester-glass-rubber laminated plates using the vacuum fusion technique.
Developed by Dr Daria Żuk, Dr Katarzyna Panasiuk, and Norbert Abramczyk from the Faculty of Marine Engineering.
- GOLD MEDAL
Polyurethane foam modified with nanochitosan.
Developed by Dr Joanna Brzeska, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Management Quality Science and Dr Agnieszka Piotrowska-Kirschling
- SILVER MEDAL

Developed by Dr Olga Łastowska from the Faculty of Marine Engineering.
The innovation brokers collected medals on behalf of the teams of GMU inventors.
The GMU attracted considerable interest from visitors, including representatives of research institutions, technology companies, and potential investors.
The attendance of the brokers at the INTARG 2025 show enabled the establishment of valuable contacts, fruitful discussions in the networking zone, B2B meetings, access to information on current technological trends, and the promotion of GMU innovations on an international stage.
Congratulations to all those involved!
