It is with great pleasure that I tell you I was awarded the title of Outstanding Graduate of Gdynia Maritime University. I completed my studies here in 1998, obtaining both my deck officer’s diploma and a master’s degree in engineering.
Immediately after graduation, I began my professional career at sea, working on vessels involved in seabed exploration. As a Dynamic Positioning Officer, I spent over 25 years at sea, progressing through all stages of my career on drilling units. I concluded my offshore work on jack-up units, where I served as the operator’s representative – commonly referred to as the 'client'.
During my career, I developed a passion for the subject of ship stability. This led me to develop a mobile ballast simulator for floating platforms and jack-ups, on which I have trained hundreds of students over the past nine years. Thanks to this, participants can experience first-hand the consequences of poor stability and gain a much deeper understanding of this crucial issue.
My studies at Gdynia Maritime University gave me not only solid maritime and technical knowledge, but also taught me to think critically. These skills have proved invaluable in emergencies, which are often an unavoidable part of life at sea.
I am proud of this recognition and hope that my professional path will inspire future generations of students, showing how important it is to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life practice.
