At Gdynia Maritime University, life on campus goes beyond the classroom. Our two main campuses combine historic architecture and maritime heritage with modern facilities for studying, staying active, meeting friends and making the most of university life.
Two Campuses, a Distinctive Setting
Morska Street Campus
The University’s main campus is a distinctive architectural landmark in the heart of Gdynia. Its historic buildings combine interwar modernism with classicism, while spaces such as the T. Meissner Auditorium reflect the character of the university’s long maritime tradition.
The campus is also the centre of everyday student life, with lecture theatres, engineering laboratories, the main library, quiet study areas and student zones and the Foreign Languages Centre alongside a health clinic and career services. Students can also make use of the campus canteen, Bukszpryt Pub&Club and the Sports and Recreation Centre, with student accommodation within walking distance.
Faculty of Navigation Campus
Located on Gdynia’s waterfront, the Faculty of Navigation campus puts you right at the heart of the city’s maritime environment, beside active docks, marinas and sailing vessels.
Here, specialised facilities support both academic study and practical maritime training, including navigation bridge simulators, specialised libraries and the Antoni Ledóchowski Planetarium. The campus is also home to the university yacht marina and the berth of GMU’s flagship sail-training vessel, Dar Młodzieży.

A Campus That Keeps Growing
GMU continues to invest in its campuses and student facilities. The new Sports and Recreation Centre opened in 2024, while new residential facilities and a Computer Science Centre are currently under development.
Together, these developments are creating new spaces for students to study, live, stay active and enjoy university life.
