During the 17th sitting of the GMU Senate of the 17th term of office on Friday 16th September, GMU Rector Professor Adam Weintrit appointed members to the newly created Coordination Team for the Construction of the GMU Sports Centre.

Established by Regulation No 49 of the Rector of GMU of 15th September 2022 RRP/0132/49/2022, the "Team for coordinating the construction including the purchase of equipment for the Sports and Leisure Centre and financial oversight, including settlements with Budimex S.A., its contractors and subcontractors," has six members.

The appointed members are:

• Professor Adam Weintrit, GMU Rector – Team Head,
• Dr Sambor Guze,  Deputy Rector for Education – Deputy Head,
• Dr Andrzej Lachowicz - Director of the Sports and Recreation Centre,
• Filip MALATA, – Chancellor,
• Eugeniusz Paweł ORZESZEK, Bursar,
• Małgorzata Bielska, Deputy Chancellor for Technical Affairs

The Team's tasks will include:

• direct supervision of the progress of the construction process, including the assessment of risks,
• ongoing supervision of the financial aspects of the contract,
• monitoring Budimex S.A.'s settlements with contractors and subcontractors and analysing the level of the Company's fulfilment of the terms and conditions of the contract,
• Preparing specifications for the purchase of specialised equipment required by the GMU Sports Centre,
• activities related to raising additional funds for the completion of the investment,
• Developing a financial strategy for the GMU Sports Centre.

As appointed by HM Rector of GMU, Piotr Skarzynski shall perform the role of permanent legal advisor to the Council.
