Junior Greenhouse Gases Verifier/Engineer

Our Shared Service Centre in Gdynia, launched in 2016, delivers exceptional services to over 15,000 global employees.  

Withing Maritime Ship Classification Approval (M-SA) team, we approve, verify, and certify ships and their parts by reviewing documents from our clients. We work on projects involving new ships, ship modifications, and the materials used in them.  

Growing and developing, we are looking for a new member to our Approval Hub in Poland to join the Decarbonization Services unit, which plays a key role in checking and verifying CO2 reports to ensure they are accurate and complete.  

About you 

We are seeking a candidate, who is in the early and entry stage of their career, open to learning about marine CO2 reporting regulations, verifier’s role and digital methods of verifying CO2 emissions.  

In this role, you will have a direct impact on reducing carbon emissions and contributing to a greener future, participating in significant projects. 

You will manage and check that the data reported by our clients meets the quality standards, communicating with them on feedback, and working with the internal production system and verification tools. 

As a Verifier, you will have a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the following areas:  

  • Monitor and verify vessel activity,  
  • Check data quality from external clients’ documents (monitoring plans, emission reports, and fuel oil consumption reports),  
  • Work closely with international technical departments across DNV’s global approval network,  
  • Work with international regulations,  
  • Collaborate with ship owners worldwide,  
  • Review technical documentation for different types of vessels,  
  • Contribute to the development of digital verification tools.

Who you are 

To maximize your chances, you need:  

  • Engineering Bachelor's/Master's degree or engineering students in the following or similar field of study: naval architecture, mechanical engineering, nautical, environmental technologies, or data analytics available for full-time work, 
  • Fluency in English is mandatory (both written and verbal). English is our official communication language,
  • Attention to detail and solution-orientated approach to deliver accurate and fast solutions to our customers. 

 

Nice to have:  

  • Greenhouse Gases and MARPOL Annex VI knowledge, 
  • Understanding of ship hydrodynamics, 
  • Power plant knowledge,  
  • Ship or ship systems knowledge both operational and technical,  
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools. We provide extensive training as well if you need it.
