About the course

The course will examine the major program management frameworks, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid, by studying PM theory, case studies,  and lessons learned from offshore wind projects.

It will begin with a foundational exploration of core Project Management disciplines (e.g. triple projects constraints, role of the Project Manager, risk analysis, stakeholder management, effective communication, supply chain and lean project planning), followed by a deeper dive into how these concepts can be applied to Offshore Wind sector.

After completing the course, you will:

  • know the key aspects of Project Management throughout the offshore wind farm life cycle covering project development, installation, operation and maintenance and decommissioning,
  • identify major  risks,
  • identify sector stakeholders involved in different phases of the project,  
  • understand external and internal project phase influences and their implications,
  • understand offshore wind applicable project management methodology. 

Who should attend

Successful delivery of an offshore wind farm project comes down to the skills of a project manager and effective management of multitasks at each phase of the project. Starting from the project development until its decommissioning unforeseen events can put the timeline and budget at risk, and that means effective managers must be adept at managing change. This introductory course of Project Management in Offshore Wind is designed for those, who wish to increase their project management knowledge and learn effective strategies for managing projects and uncertainty of the offshore wind sector.
